In partnership with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center’s (BIDMC) award winning obstetrics unit, RMF Strategies has developed Team Performance Plus (TPP), a program offering exemplary obstetrical team training by the BIDMC clinical faculty. This multi-faceted training, conducted by clinicians for clinicians, is designed specifically for your Labor and Delivery environment and can improve communication and team effectiveness within your OB department, having a significant impact on quality of care.
TPP offers practical and transferable materials and expert assistance to help departments apply the program successfully and maintain its benefits for a full year after completion. The collection of baseline data, accompanied by ongoing measurement, monitors the program’s effectiveness at reducing adverse outcomes and increasing the delivery of safe and expert care.
What you get with TPP
- An initial one-day site visit and departmental assessment by TPP master trainers. This physician-nurse pair will inform and engage your staff while assessing their readiness for training.
- An intensive, three-day train-the-trainer program establishes your team of in-house experts. Team Performance Plus will heighten and expand the effectiveness of four physician-nurse pairs of obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and OB nurses.
- Twelve months of ongoing support insures that goals are being met and improvements in delivery of care are being maintained.
Additionally, clients gain the ability to measure and monitor the effectiveness of the program through a data partnership with the National Perinatal Information Center (NPIC), which includes establishing a baseline Adverse Outcomes Index
(AOI) and tracking quarterly trends. These metrics, developed by an expert consensus panel, will capture when and how teamwork has improved your department’s clinical outcomes.
